This year, the day after school got out, Scott took Brock, Bo and Britton on a backpacking/camping trip to the Boulder Mountains. He went with a couple of other dads and sons from our neighborhood. Braden and Boston couldn't go because they were leaving for EFY before the campers returned. Here they are with their packs!
Thank heaven for campfires when things get chilly.
We are not exactly a fishing family, but apparently this lake is so remote and full of fish that even the Woods were champion fishermen.
Here are Brock and Britton with the fish they caught,
but Bo's (below) was the biggest anyone caught.
And the only thing better than catching the fish is eating it (no, I am not being sarcastic, my kids really like it!)
Natural Law: Wherever two or more boys are assembled together, a fort of some kind will appear!
They got to hang out for a few days at beautiful Green Lake (where did they get that name?)
and relax against these rocks, which were only slightly less comfortable than...
...their tent!
They camped for three nights, until some snow came, at which point they decided they had had enough fun and so they packed up and came home.
They had an absolutely great time and were so proud of themselves for the backpacking part. Thanks Dad for taking them on this exciting trip!
